The Grill Butler
Grill Care Guide

How often should you clean a grill in Texas?

For most DFW homeowners, a professional deep clean once or twice a year—plus a quick brush after every cook—keeps a grill safe, cooking evenly and looking good.

The short answer

Brush the grates after every cook. Empty the grease tray every few weeks in grilling season. Get a full deep clean—grates, burners, inside the firebox and drip pan—once or twice a year.

In Texas we grill almost year-round, so many families book one cleaning in spring before cookout season and another in fall before football and the holidays.

Why Texas grills get dirty faster

A longer grilling season means more grease and carbon. Summer heat bakes buildup onto grates and lids, and pollen and dust stick to greasy surfaces outside.

Signs your grill needs a deep clean

Flare-ups, uneven heat, flaking black bits on the inside of the lid, a full grease tray, or a grill that takes a long time to heat up are all signs it's time.

What a professional cleaning includes

We take the grill apart, soak the grates, warming rack and heat shields, clear the burners, deep clean the inside and drip pan, clean the drawers below, polish the outside and put it back together.
